Funding updates for the 2025 to 2026 academic year

Initial teacher training (ITT) funding for the academic year 2025 to 2026
2025 to 2026 bursary levels will be set at:
- £29,000 in chemistry, computing, mathematics and physics
- £26,000 in biology, design and technology, geography and languages (including ancient languages)
- £10,000 in art and design, music and religious education (RE)
- £5,000 in English
Applicants may be eligible for a bursary if they have 1st, 2:1, 2:2, PhD or master’s.
2025 to 2026 scholarships are:
- £31,000 in chemistry, computing, mathematics and physics
- £28,000 in French, German and Spanish (no other languages)

If you’re using the Register API or the bulk add new trainees CSV template, the FUNDCODE and BURSLEV reference data remains unchanged for the 2025 to 2026 academic year.

Teacher degree apprenticeship (TDA) training route

Some ITT providers have been selected to offer a new teacher degree apprenticeship in the academic year 2025 to 2026.
In the Register service, this new training route will be labelled ‘Teacher degree apprenticeship (salaried)’ under ‘Other’ as an option to the question ‘What type of training are they doing?’.
If you’re using the Register API or the bulk add new trainees CSV template, the ENTRYRTE reference data will include ‘14’ for new TDA route for the 2025 to 2026 academic year:
